Samsung Galaxy Fold to Launch Right After iPhone 11: Report

Originally intended to be launched on 22nd April this year, Samsung Galaxy Fold was delayed indefinitely to fix certain issues.

At the start of 2019, the smartphone was shaping up to be the most exciting device of the year but to everyone’s disappointment things did not turn out the way they were supposed to.

After a long 5 month wait, the Korean electronics giant has finally confirmed that after certain changes, the smartphone will be released in September. Even though the company did not specify a date, a report from a Korean outlet The Investor says that the Galaxy Fold will be released in South Korea on September 18, 19, or 20.

Same Launch Window as The iPhone

These dates weirdly coincide with the release of iPhone 11. Every year, Apple releases its new iPhone in the first 15 days of September with sales starting from 20th September. The release of Samsung Galaxy Fold falls right in the middle of that.

Is this a coincidence or does Samsung want the spotlight? Considering, the first major foldable smartphone’s release will coincide with the iPhone, it’s safe to assume that Apple’s sales might be affected.

Apart from this, the report claims that Samsung has started mass production of Galaxy Note 10, Note 10+ and Galaxy Fold. The foldable smartphone will be released in South Korea and the US in September followed by the German, UK and French markets.
