Truck Driver’s Daughter Gets Highest Marks in Punjab University’s History

It is said that focus, passion, and hard work are the ingredients for success – your social or financial status has little to do in it. A young affiliate student of Punjab University has proven this saying.

Noshaba Zafar, the daughter of a truck driver, has scored the highest marks in Punjab University’s history.

Hailing from district Chakwal’s tehsil Talagang, Noshaba is a BSc student from VIP Girls Degree College – an affiliate of Punjab University.

On Tuesday, the university announced the annual result for BA/BSc Examination 2019, and she became the first student ever to score 714 marks out of 800.

As soon as the news broke, the whole city turned to her residence with congratulatory messages.

The Principal of her college, Zahida Habib, was also happy on Noshaba’s success. She said that in the 137 years of Punjab University, no one has ever achieved such a milestone.

Noshaba also received an Rs. 0.1 million cash prize from the Vice-Chancellor of PU, Prof Niaz Ahmed Akhtar.

Speaking on a local TV show, Noshaba spelled out her future plans. She is going to enroll in a Master’s program, after which she is planning to complete her MPhil.

When asked about her career preferences, here is what she said:

I want to be a lecturer to serve our people. I want to fulfill all of my deceased father’s wishes.

She revealed that after the demise of her parents, her grandfather encouraged her to continue her education.
