Samsung Teases Galaxy Note 10’s In-House Processor

Samsung flagships are usually powered by both Qualcomm and Samsung’s own Exynos line of chips.

For the upcoming Galaxy Note 10, we do know that it’ll get a Snapdragon 855 on the Qualcomm side, but we don’t know about the Exynos processor. However, that’s about to change thanks to a new teaser from Samsung

While Samsung hasn’t said anything about the Exynos 9825, it has released a teaser video on Twitter about its new and improved in-house chipset.

The teaser video talks about a new and evolved intelligent processor, and the fact that it’s coming out the same day as the Note 10 only confirms our suspicion.

Specifications

The teaser does not mention any details on the processor other than the August 7 release date. However, earlier reports have suggested that the Exynos 9825 will be based on 7nm extreme ultraviolet lithography (EUV) fabrication process, which will give it a significant boost over the Exynos 9820.

In terms of efficiency, it is said that the Exynos 9825 will be at eye level against the Snapdragon 855 Plus, but nothing is confirmed yet. The new SoC will also most likely feature the company’s Exynos Modem 5100, which supports 5G.

Leaked Benchmark

Alleged performance benchmarks for the Exynos 9825 powered Galaxy Note 10 appeared on Geekbench last month, showing a major improvement over Snapdragon 855’s scores.

We’ll have to wait until the Note 10 is released for accurate comparisons.

Samsung will reveal more details about the new SoC on August 7, announcing the Galaxy Note 10 in New York on the same day. You can catch the event live on Facebook.
