Sri Lanka Refuses to Play Test Cricket in Pakistan

Despite positive feedback by the Sri Lankan delegation regarding Pakistan’s security situation, Sri Lankan board has decided against playing Test matches in Pakistan.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) were hopeful that Sri Lankan cricket team would travel to Pakistan in early October, which would have helped Pakistan resume international cricket in the country.

The information was revealed by a BBC reporter stationed in Colombo, Azzam Ameen, on his Twitter account where he said:

“Sri Lanka will not play Test Cricket in Pakistan, We are planning to play 3 ODIs in Pakistan – Sports Minister @fernandoharin.”

It is worth mentioning that the PCB is yet to confirm this news. In addition to that, it remains to be seen whether PCB agrees to play three ODIs in Pakistan especially after Sri Lankan board has backtracked on its promise to play Test cricket in Pakistan.
