Heavy Rains Disrupt Flight Schedule in Karachi

Karachi received heavy rains with gusty winds last night which affected the flight schedule at the Jinnah International Airport.

Due to the sudden downpour, Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) had to divert several flights to other cities.

According to sources at the airport, Karachi-bound flight from Islamabad, PK-309, was diverted to Lahore while another flight PK-311 from Quetta was sent back.

Due to bad weather, PIA’s Dubai bound flight PK-213 could not leave for its destination on time.

As per Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), 32 mm precipitation was recorded in North Karachi, 28 mm in Saddar and 20 mm at the University Road on Wednesday night.

PMD expects the rain to continue for the next two days with possible thunderstorms today.
