LHC Seeks Response from PCB Over Misbah’s Alleged “Undeserved” Appointment

The Lahore High Court (LHC) has sought a response from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) over the recent appointment of Misbah-ul-Haq as a coach and chief selector.

A petition was filed by a person named Neelofar Zia and he made the claim that Misbah lacks the experience to become the coach of Pakistan cricket team let alone hold the dual role.

It is worth adding that this is the first-time PCB has opted for a dual role. Previously, PCB labeled this as a ‘conflict of interest’.

The petitioner also claimed that Misbah’s appointment was not on merit and that the interviews were held secretly by the PCB because they had already made up their mind about Misbah long before the announcement.

It was further stated that PCB’s Managing Director Wasim Khan has accepted that Misbah does not have the required experience.

The petition asks the LHC to cancel Misbah’s appointment as the head coach and chief selector of Pakistan cricket team.
