Pak Suzuki Stops Accepting Orders for Several Cars

Pak Suzuki has reportedly stopped accepting bookings of several vehicles on a temporary basis.

According to the details, the cars whose booking has been suspended temporarily include:

  • Swift DLX,
  • WagonR VXR,
  • Alto VX,
  • Cultus VXR,
  • Vitara

The official notice is attached below:

While Suzuki has stopped taking orders of these cars, it is pertinent to point out that in the case of WagonR VXR and Cultus VXR they haven’t been completely suspended but rather only a few colors such as Red, Blue and Black have been dropped. Apart from these colors, these cars are available in other colors.

Mega Carry didn’t see a lot of success and possibly that’s the reason it has been permanently discontinued.

The news was confirmed by an official at Pak Suzuki but no reason was given for this move. According to speculations, one of the major reasons for this could be the fall in car sales.

According to recently published data by Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA), overall car sales have fallen by 41% in August 2019.

In the case of Suzuki, their sales for August 2019, as compared to the same period last year have fallen by 56.15% with the popular WagonR seeing a whopping 73.67% plunge in sales in this period as it only sold 645 units as compared to 2450 units in the corresponding period last year.

Pak Suzuki Car Sales
Model Aug 18’ Aug 19’ Difference
Alto 660CC N/A 3435 N/A
Bolan 1213 371 -69.41%
Ravi 967 322 -66.70%
Cultus 1380 1289 -6.59%
WagonR 2450 645 -73.67%
Swift 355 164 -53.80%
Total 6365 2791 -56.15%

There are a number of factors for the decrease in sales including the prevailing economic conditions in the country, the fall in the rupee and multiple hikes in the price tags of cars. According to local Suzuki dealers, the car orders were slowing down but could speed up in the future.

Furthermore, the company is hoping to introduce the Wagon R (AGS) variant and 4th Gen Suzuki Jimny in the country soon.

  • Very simple solution, completely ban import of foreign brand reconditioned cars, the sale of the local auto industry will automatically increase, but who will do it when interest of vested groups are involved.

  • Perhaps if the local manufacturers weren’t price gouging customers and selling inferior vehicles, they’d be making sales. Some of these manufacturers have hiked prices over 50% on certain vehicles when the dollar has appreciated only 38% in the meantime. Time for these local companies to settle for only reasonable profits like elsewhere on the planet, rather than 20-30% at the expense of Pakistanis.

  • The price of Pakistani cars is to high as compared to Indian cars. It’s the Monopoly of few car manufacturers in Pakistan. The government should invite other brands as well. And the duty on import must be removed on second hand cars.

  • Its good to know that finally big local auto manufacturers have suffered a hit in sales.
The monopoly of the Big 3 (Suzuki, Toyota and Honda) should be broken.

  • In Pakistan all car companies stolen our money.
With garbage of car. Without any facilities.
How is responsible for this one was a Fraud People.

  • Nothing to worry about regarding the dip in sales figures for Pak Suzuki. The launch of Alto has attracted the sales and customers has opted for new model/variant. Why would one buy old shaped Wagon R or expensive Cultus.

  • High no of prices all these cars, please less price ,sale will be improved, high kibore rate of bank make it difficult to purchase
