Xiaomi has confirmed a launch event for tomorrow where it plans to unveil several new products. Xiaomi Mi Mix Alpha (Mi Mix 4?) will become official alongside Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G. Additionally, the company will also announce its Mi TV Pro 8K as well as MIUI 11.
Previous leaks have suggested that the Mi Mix Alpha will feature a foldable design, which may not be the case. The phone will instead sport a curved waterfall display similar to the Vivo Nex 3 and Huawei Mate 30 Pro.
The company has now teased some more details on the upcoming Mi Mix Alpha via a poster shared on Weibo. The teaser confirms previous leaks on the smartphone which suggested that the Mix Mix Alpha is going to have a 108MP sensor.
Currently, the highest resolution featured on a smartphone camera is 64 megapixels, which will now be replaced by the Mi Mix Alpha, which has a 108MP sensor.
The smartphone camera will be equipped with Samsung’s ISOCELL Bright HMX sensor which supports 108 megapixels. This is the second time Xiaomi is partnering with Samsung to power its smartphone cameras, the first one being the Redmi Note 8 Pro’s 64MP sensor which was powered by Samsung’s ISOCELL GW1 sensor.
Check out camera samples taken from the Mix Mix Alpha below.
The company claims that these camera samples have a resolution of 12032 x 9024 pixels and are 40MB in size. As can be seen, the pictures retain their details even when the photo is zoomed by 8x.
According to previous leaks, the Xiaomi Mi Mix Alpha will come with a 2k screen and a 90Hz refresh rate. It will be powered by the Snapdragon 855 Plus chipset with 12GB of RAM and 1TB storage capacity.
It is expected that the phone will come with MIUI 11 based on Android 10 fresh out of the box.
