After being dismantled by Australia in their backyard, Pakistan’s cricket team’s Test ranking has taken a major blow.

Previously ranked at number 7, Pakistan’s ranking has now dropped to 8th.

The Men in Green are now behind the West Indies and Sri Lanka. Here are the updated ICC Test rankings:

S/N Team Weighted Matches Points Rating
1. India 42 5,046 120
2. New Zealand 26 2,829 109
3. England 42 4,366 104
4. South Africa 31 3,177 102
5. Australia 36 3,672 102
6. Sri Lanka 40 3,795 95
7. West Indies 33 2,675 81

9. Bangladesh 26 1,566 60
10. Afghanistan 4 195 49

Pakistan’s new Test series will be against Sri Lanka at home. The Men in Green will play their first Test match on home soil after more than 10 years, which will be a sight to behold.

The selection committee will be under pressure to make some necessary changes to the Test squad, mainly the bowling department.
