The Police arrived on the scene within five minutes of receiving the call and started taking statements. By the evening, one of the robbers was arrested from the I-9 sector.

Reportedly, the robbers’ car was intercepted at a police checkpoint near the Model Police Station Industrial Area, when one of them came out to talk to the officers. While returning to the car, his pistol slipped out of the holder, which attracted the policemen’s attention. Seeing him in trouble, his accomplice fled in the car.

During the investigation, the arrested robber told the Police that he belonged to Rahim Yar Khan and had come to Islamabad with his other partner, Bilal (from Gujrat), with the intention of a series of robberies during the weekend.

He also confessed to having robbed a house in Gujrat the other night, after which the two thugs arrived in Islamabad on a rented car and snatched a 125 motorbike from Gulberg. He said that he and his confederate were going for another robbery in the I-10 sector before the Police caught him.

The other robber is still at large, but the Police are hopeful to catch him soon.
