Vivo S6 5G Launched With Flagship Specs

Vivo is bringing 5G to more of its affordable devices this year with the launch of the S6 5G. The phone is powered by one of Samsung’s mid-range Exynos chipsets, has a large 4,500 mAh battery, and a tall AMOLED display to top it all off.

Design and Display

The Vivo S6 5G has a 6.44-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution and a tall 20:9 aspect ratio. There is a waterdrop notch for the front-facing camera and an in-display fingerprint sensor that has snappy unlocks.

There are four cameras at the back housed in a circular module and a dual-tone LED flash unit just below it.

Internals and Storage

There is an Exynos 980 SoC on the inside with 8GB RAM and two different storage options including 128GB and 256GB of speedy UFS 2.1. There is a 2.2GHz octa-core processor on the chipset which consists of two high-performance Cortex A77 CPU cores and six Cortex A55 cores for power efficiency.

Cameras

The circular camera bump on the back has a 48MP main shooter combined with an underwhelming 8MP ultrawide lens, a 2MP macro camera, and a 2MP depth sensor. The camera can record 1080p and 4K videos but both are limited to 30 FPS.

The front-facing camera is a 32MP lens that can capture wide-angle shots, HDR photos, and 1080p videos at 30 FPS.

Battery and Pricing

The 4,500 mAh battery on the device comes with 18W fast charging that should be able to top up the device from 0 to 100% in around 90 minutes.

The Vivo S6 5G will be available in Black, Blue, and a mixture of White and Blue colors for $380 once it goes for sale on April 4.
