#HelptheHelpers: ProPakistani Launches Directory of Groups and NGOs Fighting Coronavirus

Over the last few weeks, we’ve been trying to organize relief efforts in our personal capacities to make sure daily wage-workers don’t go hungry and medical professionals get access to the gear they need to stay safe while they treat COVID-19 patients.

Our challenges, amazingly enough, aren’t related to access to funds or gear. We’ve been overwhelmed with the amazing generosity of the wealth and spirit of Pakistanis.

The problems we came across are logistical in nature. There are a lot of brave people, groups and NGOs working to help those in need and since the scale of the problem is mammoth and how long it’ll last uncertain, we found that we needed to organize relief efforts.

The specific need to do so was two-fold: one, to make sure that local groups and volunteers in rural areas and tier 2 cities had access to funds and resources and second, to no ensure the same areas weren’t being served again and again.

That’s why we’ve built our #HelptheHelpers directory. The directory is a small effort to organize the details of all individuals, volunteer groups, and NGOs that are currently working to distribute ration packs and disburse medical supplies across Pakistan.

Here’s the link again: https://propakistani.pk/helpthehelpers/

Over the coming days and weeks, we’ll be working to make it as useful as possible for anyone looking to donate, volunteer their time and efforts or simply identify underserved areas.

If you have any feedback to help us improve the directory and #HelptheHelpers, please let us know!
