CAA to Install Disinfectant Tunnels at All Airports

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has decided to install disinfecting tunnels at all airports of the country. The decision was taken to minimize the spread of the coronavirus among passengers entering the country.

A notification was issued in this regard on Tuesday, which said that the tunnels will be set up at the entrances and departure lounges of the airports. Each traveler entering or leaving the airport will have to go through these disinfectant gates.

The passage of the passengers through the disinfectant tunnel has been declared mandatory to ensure safety measures and avoid the spread of the coronavirus.

Moreover, the aviation division has advised airport managers to ensure the provision of the required number of the Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and disinfecting tunnels according to the number of installation points.

It is pertinent to mention here that flight operations in the country have been suspended for over a month now. But, on the directives of PM Imran Khan, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is operating special flights on humanitarian grounds to bring back Pakistanis stranded abroad. The installation of disinfectant walk-throughs is for their safety.
