Honda Closes Down its Plant Until Further Notice

In a public notice issued by Honda Atlas Cars (Pakistan) Limited, the Japanese automaker has announced that it will be closing its manufacturing plant for an indefinite period of time.

The notice says their first priority is the safety of its customers, employees, business partners, and the wider community at large. They added that due to the coronavirus outbreak they want to “facilitate and prioritize your safety.”

The notice further says that due to the pandemic, they are facing delays in deliveries and production schedules. The company goes on to say that the manufacturing plant will remain closed until further notice, keeping in-line with the orders issued by the government.

Honda Pakistan isn’t the only major local car maker that hasn’t restarted its operations; just last week Toyota announced that they will be closing their plant for further notice. Other carmakers that haven’t restarted production include Pak Suzuki Motor Company (PSMC), Al-Haj FAW Motors, Hyundai Nishat Motor, KIA Motors, Regal, and United Auto.
