Multiple well-known X accounts tracking the gaming industry have claimed that Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6) has already surpassed 50 million pre-orders and generated more than $4 billion in revenue ahead of its release.
Neither Rockstar nor Take-Two has announced official GTA 6 pre-order figures.
Still, these numbers show how excited everyone is for the game.
When officially confirmed, the milestone would make GTA 6 one of the biggest entertainment launches in history before the game has even reached players.
The unprecedented pre-order numbers highlight the enormous anticipation surrounding Rockstar’s next blockbuster, which is scheduled to launch in 2026.
Separately, one gamer shared how they managed to pre-order GTA 6 for less than $3. They combined previously earned Best Buy cashback reward certificates with a 10 percent discount coupon which cut the final checkout price to just under $3.
The deal was made possible after the user forgot about cashback earned while purchasing a PS5 Pro months earlier.

Pre-ordered Mine as well... its such a cultral Event that you'll see entire Internet getting slowed down on the day Rockstar Opens pre-download. Now planning on the excuses that I need to make at my work to take the days off
No that's called being a chump. Many canceled their pre orders bcz a digital game doesn't run out.
You can buy it any time you want. Nothing cultural about it.
But 80 dollars ( 24000 rs ) is not worth buying a game with no actual physical copy that you can keep for future or rent or transfer to others.
Smart people are waiting since digital game isn't going to run out ever . They'll buy it later on Christmas or black Friday.
Ignoring the ad hominem attacks. I don't have much of an issue with people not pre ordering. Skepticism around pre ordering is justified, cyberpunk comes to mind among many others.
But I make an exception for Rockstar games. Pre-ordered RDR2 and now GTA 6.
Followed GTA5 news cycle from the very first GTA5 leak as well but didn't preorder that but played it on all four consoles and PC. Played GTA 4 on my core 2 duo PC with radeaon x1550 graphics card back in 2009.
That's my history with Rockstar. So to each his own, and hence I have pre-ordered.

People don't make exceptions unless they are shills or chumps. Bcz studios never make exceptions for us.
The pre orders are canceled bcz unlike gta5 , we're not getting the product we want. Devs were let go for unionising, and wanting fair pay.
Customers are not getting physical copies despite the price tag. Even Nintendo gives physical copies to buyers.
