Mansehra-Thakot Expressway Is Now Open For Traffic

On Monday, Inspector General of Motorways Police, Kaleem Imam, opened the Mansehra-Thakot section of Hazara Expressway for traffic.

Imam traveled on the new road and discussed public safety issues with tunnel operation staff and inspected toll tax collection points.

Chairman CPEC Authority (CPECA), Asim Saleem Bajwa, has also confirmed the opening of the Mansehra-Thakot section.

Bajwa revealed that the Mansehra-Thakot section is a two-way motorway that stretches over 80km and has been developed at a cost Rs. 136 billion.

Last week, Chairman National Highway Authority (NHA), Sikandar Qayyum, had indicated that the Mansehra-Thakot section of Hazara Expressway could be opened for traffic before Eid-ul-Azha to help ease the traffic congestion in the division.

Federal minister for communications Murad Saeed will formally inaugurate the Mansehra-Thakot section after Eidul Azha.
