The Vivo Y1s has been released in Cambodia as one of the cheapest smartphones from the Chinese company to date. It brings decent entry-level specifications with a large display, a long-lasting battery, and up to 32GB storage for a starting price of only $109.
The device has a 6.22-inch LCD with HD+ resolution and a waterdrop notch at the top for the front camera. It comes with a full plastic body and a gradient finish on the rear panel.
There is only a single primary camera lens at the back and no fingerprint sensors anywhere. It will be available in Aurora Blue and Olive Black colors.
The entry-level MediaTek Helio P35 SoC powers the internals and is paired by 2GB RAM and 32GB storage, and it is expandable through a microSD card. The processor on this chipset is a 2.3GHz octa-core unit with Cortex A53 cores.
You get Android 10 out of the box in terms of software but with Vivo’s Funtouch OS 10.5 on top.
The rear camera is a 13MP lens with f/2.2 aperture and an LED flash, whereas the front-facing camera is a 5MP shooter with f/1.8 aperture. There are no details available on the video recording capabilities of these cameras, but they can likely record 1080p clips.
There is a 4,030 mAh battery on-board which should be able to keep the entry-level device going for 2 days. There is no fast charging available and the charging port is a MicroUSB, which should be expected at this price point.
The Vivo Y1s has been released in Cambodia for $109 and an international release should follow in the coming weeks.
