Pakistan’s number one 4G operator and the largest internet and broadband service provider is amongst the largest taxpayers and the biggest foreign investors with an investment of over US$ 9.5 billion during the last 25 years. In the last 6 years alone, Jazz has contributed over PKR 251 billion to the national exchequer in the form of taxes and duties.
Jazz has always been a law-abiding corporate citizen and has been in the forefront for contributing to Pakistan’s economy in monetary and development terms, and as the market leader in telecom and internet services with over 63 million customers. The company has also discharged its social responsibility in floods, earthquakes, and recently in COVID-19 relief response worth over PKR 1.2 billion.
According to Jazz Spokesperson, “We have received a notice from FBR yesterday for the recovery of a disputed tax demand and we have serious reservations on these alleged taxes. The proceedings were carried out on plea of a tax recovery notice for a disputed amount from 2018 which is under legal proceedings. Due to the drastic measures our corporate reputation and pride has been hurt and shakes the confidence of foreign investors of Jazz and others. Despite being the largest taxpayers, we are treated in an unfortunate way. While the government is making efforts to improve the business environment in the country, such drastic measures would unfortunately severely affect investment prospects.”
Jazz seeks resolution of the matter and has always been willing to conduct dialogue as well as rightful legal course to reach merit and right interpretation. Jazz also assures its valued customers that despite the challenges, we will continue to provide uninterrupted services.

Well done FBR, these communication company’s deduct advance taxes at source, but fails to pay the same to the Govt, and than they come crying out when TAX Notices are served to them. What a shame.

These press releases are just to gain public sympathies. Please don’t be misguided by them. This tax demand may have been due for the past many years. Taxpayers normally don’t pay heed to tax demands raised because of weak recovery powers of FBR.
I know FBR has first time took right decision JAZZ contributed 251 billions by fleecing General poor people of Pakistan not only that Jazz is responsible for the biggest corruption in Pakistan and distoy Pakistan economy, I have worked with KPMG UK regarding working of Warid and Jazz on the request of HH SHEIKH NAHYAN BIN MABARAK ALNAHYAN

The dispute can be settled under tax laws of Pakistan on the appropriate forum. FBR has mishandled the case and deliberately gave an opportunity for litigation to the Jazz .

Notice should have been tajen long ago, hoping for postive outcome.
Instead of whining here, try to get the things sorted via proper channel and there are ways and people out there who can fight the case if the alleged taxes aren’t fair.
You are providing very poor net work with a very low capabilities and collecting alot of money in the name of taxes pay your collection to the government and come with clear and full coverage if you don’t do so then remember we will boycott your battered network. Slight correction. Zong is largest Data Service Provider in MBB while PTCL is largest in FBB. Jazz comes nowhere near both.
