Pakistan’s Foreign Office (FO) has rebuffed the reports spread by Indian media and various dummy Twitter accounts regarding Pakistani diaspora in France.
Over the weekend, the rumor was rife that Pakistani expats in France have come under fire following a series of protests and boycott calls over French President, Emmanuel Macron’s anti-Islam remarks and republication of blasphemous caricatures.

However, the FO spokesperson, Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri, clarified that Pakistan’s Mission in France has received no such complaints.
The baseless and misleading information is patently handiwork of Indian anti-Pakistan propaganda machine working overtime.
Chaudhri said Pakistanis in France are law-abiding citizens and contribute positively to the French economy.
A series of protests have erupted in Pakistan since the republication of blasphemous cartoons, followed by Macron’s hateful comments.
Call for boycott of French products is in full swing in the country, with traders associations unanimously deciding not to sell French goods in markets.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister, Imran Khan, has openly criticized Macron’s approach towards Islam and said that his steps further polarized the population and provoked the Muslim community to react.
It is unfortunate that he has chosen to encourage Islamophobia by attacking Islam rather than the terrorists who carry out violence, be it Muslims, White Supremacists or Nazi ideologists. Sadly, President Macron has chosen to deliberately provoke Muslims.
Pakistan’s National Assembly has also unanimously adopted a resolution condemning the insulting cartoons and suggested recalling Pakistan’s ambassador from Paris.
