OnePlus 9’s Case Reveals Key Design Elements [Images]

OnePlus 9 is just a few months away, and we have already got our hands on its CAD renders (unofficial). Now, the smartphone case of the OnePlus 9, giving us more insight into its aesthetics, has surfaced on the internet.

The renders show a transparent bumper case with reinforced corners that can absorb shocks in case the phone takes a fall. As shown in the previous renders, the upcoming flagship will have a hole punch in the top left corner of the screen. The display will be flat and will come with a higher refresh rate.

At the back, the OnePlus 9 will most likely flaunt a rectangular housing that is home to three rear cameras, one less than the number of cameras the OnePlus 8T has. The two larger cameras are the primary camera and ultrawide angle camera, while the smaller sensor is probably the macro sensor. The triple camera system is flanked by a round LED flash installed beside the sensors.

In other news, an unconfirmed leak suggests that the OnePlus 9 will sport a 48 MP main camera sensor that works in combination with a 48 MP Ultra-wide lens and a 5 MP macro or depth sensor.

The smartphone will be powered by the Snapdragon 875 processor, due to launch next month, and will run OxygenOS 11 based on Android 11 out of the box. It will ship with support for 65W fast wired charging and will most likely ditch wireless charging.

More details will be revealed as the launch date nears.
