Samsung Display to Launch 90 Hz OLED Screens for Laptops

After launching its Galaxy S21 flagship series, Samsung is readying to launch a one-of-a-kind laptop that will allegedly sport a 90 Hz OLED panel.

According to Samsung Display’s CEO, Joo Sun Choi, the screen will be made available in Q1 2021.  He also revealed that the company plans on making very large quantities of 14-inch, 90Hz OLED displays for the laptops and notebooks, beginning in March.

Since OLED panels, especially with a higher refresh rate, require the use of a high-end graphics card we believe the laptop will be equipped with top-notch internals and will be launched as a rival to the MacBook Pro. According to the company, consumers will jump at the idea of having a 90 Hz display on their laptops.

Samsung Display believes that the 90 Hz OLED display will revolutionize media streaming and gaming on laptops since there are hardly any laptops with a higher refresh rate and an OLED panel alongside it. You can always buy a monitor with a refresh rate ranging from 90 Hz to 144 Hz for your PC but it does not give you the freedom of portability.

As far as the laptop is concerned, we don’t have any information regarding the specifications and the launch date of the device. However, we do know for sure that once Samsung launches this laptop more companies will follow the suit.
