Redmi K40 to Follow in Xiaomi Mi 11’s Footsteps

The launch of Redmi’s first flagship phone of 2021 is drawing near and likewise, more details are starting to appear as well. The Redmi K40 series is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 888 SoC, as confirmed by the company’s General Manager himself, and now the phone’s retail box has appeared online, revealing more details.

The image shows the Redmi K40 in two different retail boxes, one smaller than the other. This indicates that quite like the Mi 11, the Redmi K40 series will also have two different retail versions of the phone, one paired with a charger and one without it. Akin to the Mi 11, the two retail versions are expected to cost the same.

We know that the K40 series is going to include the base Redmi K40 and the K40 Pro, both of which are rumored to feature the Snapdragon 888. There will likely be other phones in the series, but there is no information on that just yet.

Both phones are expected to have AMOLED displays with punch-hole selfie cameras and the company has said that the screen will be the “most expensive” in the industry. In terms of pricing, the Redmi K40 Pro is already confirmed to cost 2,998 yuan, which is $463.

The series is expected to debut in February after the Chinese New Year.
