Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra Durability Test Reveals Two Screen Protectors

Despite featuring the new and improved Gorilla Glass Victus, the Galaxy S21 Ultra has two layers of screen protectors on top of the display. As revealed by JerryRigEverything’s latest durability test, Samsung’s new flagship phone has extra layers of protection which seems a bit overkill, or maybe it was only an assembly error on one unit.

The new Gorilla Glass Victus is more shatterproof but has the same scratch resistance as before. The S21 Ultra’s display scratches with a level 6 pick and gets deeper grooves at level 7 on Moh’s hardness scale. The rear panel has a matte finish this time around which can easily fend off scratches if you rub away at them, but the same cannot be said for the camera module.

The in-display fingerprint sensor works perfectly fine even after receiving deep scratches all over it.

The display lasts about 45 seconds before taking permanent damage from a lighter’s flame. The dead pixels do not recover from the damage and stay unresponsive afterward.

Once again, Samsung has made a rock-solid flagship phone that shows no signs of flexing or dents in the bend test. It is nice to see that Samsung’s premium phones remain as sturdy as ever.
