Health Minister Reveals Vaccination Timeline for Sindh

Sindh Health Minister, Azra Pechuho, said on Monday that the government has scheduled to commence the vaccination process from 3rd February, adding that the frontline healthcare workers will be vaccinated during the first phase.

The Sinopharm vaccine has arrived in Pakistan and has been dispatched to allocated vaccination centers across the country.

For Sindh, Pechuho revealed that the first places to administer vaccines are Korangi Hospital, Urban Health Center in Malir, followed by Qatar Hospital in Orangi, Jinnah Hospital, Khaliq Dena Hall, and Liaquatabad Hospital.

To accommodate a wider population pool across the province in the near future, the Sindh Health Minister suggested that the Children Hospital Karachi, LUMHS Jamshoro, and MCH Center in Benazirabad are being considered by the government for potential venues of vaccine facilitation.

Discussing storage, Pechuho added that the government has allocated 7 separate locations to cache the Sinopharm vaccine and recurring vaccine procurements that could arrive in the near future.

As per reports, the storage facilities will double as vaccination centers with state-of-the-art maintenance and trained personnel.
