Sputnik V’s Sole Importer in Pakistan Reveals Vaccine’s Distribution Plan

AGP Limited, a Karachi-based pharmaceutical firm and only importer of Russia’s Sputnik V vaccine, has said that the company will not sell the Coronavirus vaccine in the market and will only supply it to private hospitals and laboratories after completing legal requirements.

According to reports, AGP Limited is in talks with numerous leading private hospitals and laboratories for the supply of Sputnik V vaccine but no agreement has been reached with any of them.

A spokesperson for AGP revealed that the company is in contact with Shaukat Khanum Cancer Hospital, Aga Khan University Hospital, Shifa International Hospital, Doctors Hospital, and many other leading institutions for the supply of Sputnik V.

The first batch of Russia’s Coronavirus vaccine will reach Pakistan within a week or two and more batches will follow in the weeks to come, the spokesperson added.

The spokesperson also refuted media reports which suggested that Chughtai Laboratory, one of Pakistan’s leading laboratories, was set to import Sputnik V vaccine from Russia and clarified that AGP Limited is the sole importer and distributor of the Russian vaccine.
