Yesterday, Xiaomi’s offshoot, Redmi, launched its much-awaited Note 10 series in India. Just a few hours after the launch event, the series was globally launched. However, the smartphones in the series have been rebranded.
The Redmi Note 10 Pro Max launched in India has been launched as the Redmi Note 10 Pro. The Indian Pro model has been ditched and instead of that, the global Redmi Note 10 series comes with two new handsets, the Redmi Note 10S and the Redmi Note 10 5G. The latter is the only Redmi Note 10 phone that lacks an AMOLED display.
Design and Display
The Note 10 series comes with a Redmi K40-like design, aside from the shape of the camera aisle. The K40 series features a pill-shaped camera aisle while the Note 10 series has a rectangular camera bump. The rest of the design elements are pretty much the same except for the Redmi Note 10 5G that has a slightly different form factor.
Moreover, despite coming with an AMOLED display, the fingerprint sensor is mounted under the power button for all phones.
The vanilla Redmi Note 10 and 10S are built around a 6.43-inch Super AMOLED panel with a standard 60Hz refresh rate, 1080p resolution, and 20:9 aspect ratio.
The Pro models, on the other hand, come with a 6.67-inch AMOLED panel with a 120 Hz refresh rate and 1080p resolution. The display also supports HDR 10 and up to 1,200 nits of peak brightness and is protected by Gorilla Glass 5.
The Redmi Note 10 5G is the only member of the series that lacks an AMOLED display. It features a 6.5-inch LCD with 1080p resolution, and a variable refresh rate ranging from 30 Hz to 90 Hz.
Internals and Storage
Internally, the Redmi Note 10 comes with the Snapdragon 678 chipset paired with 4 GB or 6 GB RAM and 128 GB or 256 GB onboard storage.
The Redmi Note 10 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 732G. It is available in three memory variants:
- 6 GB RAM and 64 GB onboard storage
- 6 GB RAM and 128 GB onboard storage
- 8 GB RAM and 128 GB onboard storage
The Note 10S comes with MediaTek Helio G95 and is accompanied by 6 GB or 8 GB of RAM and 64 GB or 128 GB onboard storage.
The Note 10 5G is driven by MediaTek Dimensity 700 with built-in 5G. It is only available in two memory variants 4 GB/64 GB and 4 GB/128 GB.
The smartphones boot MIUI 12 based on Android 11. They also come with an IR blaster, headphone jack, dual stereo speakers, and an IP52 rating.
Cameras
The vanilla Redmi Note 10 sports a quad-sensor rear camera with a 48 MP Sony IMX582 main shooter that works alongside an 8 MP ultrawide module and two 2 MP sensors for macro shots and depth data. The front camera is a 13 MP sensor.
The 10S model also comes with a quad-sensor camera system. However, it swaps the main cam for a 64 MP Samsung GW3 sensor.
The Redmi Note 10 Pro comes with a 108 MP ISOCELL HM2 sensor. It is 1/1.52 inch in size with 0.7 μm pixels and the default mode uses a 9-1 binning process effectively outputting 12 MP shots. The main sensor is topped with an 8 MP ultrawide snapper, a 5 MP tele-macro cam with 2x zoom, and a 2 MP depth sensor. The selfie camera is a 16 MP unit.
The Redmi Note 10 5G sports a triple sensor camera at the back with a 48 MP main sensor and two 2 MP sensors for depth and macro photography. For selfies, it is equipped with an 8 MP single-sensor setup.
Battery and Pricing
The Redmi Note 10, 10S, and 10 5G are fueled by a 5000 mAh battery cell backed by 33W fast charging while the Pro model comes with a 5020 mAh cell also backed by 33W fast charging. According to the company, the phones charge up to 60 percent within 30 minutes.
The series will be available for sale by 8th March. The pricing details are as follows:
