The latest member of the Xiaomi Mi 10 family has just been launched as the Mi 10S whose design has been inspired by the Mi 10 Ultra but shares most of its specifications with the Mi 10 5G. The flagship handset has become official in China for only $506 and should debut in the global market soon.
The display is a curved 6.67-inch AMOLED panel with FHD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. The punch-hole selfie camera sits at the top left corner and the fingerprint sensor is underneath the display panel. The screen also has a 180Hz touch sampling rate, 1120 nits max brightness, and is protected by Gorilla Glass 5.
The camera island on the back is much bigger than the Mi 10 5G and only has minor differences in terms of specifications.
The only major update in the Xiaomi Mi 10S is that it comes with the newly released Snapdragon 870 SoC, which is an overclocked version of the Snapdragon 865+ found in most of 2020’s flagship devices. This is paired with up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB UFS 3.0.
The phone boots Android 11 with Xiaomi’s new and improved MIUI 12.5 skin on top.
You still get the Xiaomi Mi 10’s signature 108MP camera module on the back with support for OIS. This is accompanied by a 13MP ultrawide lens and a duo of 2MP sensors for depth sensing and macro photography. This camera can record up to 8K videos at 30 FPS.
The punch-hole selfie camera is a 20MP shooter.
The 4,780 mAh battery cell has support for 33W wired fast charging which is capable of filling up the device completely in only 56 minutes. There is also 30W wireless charging as well as 10W reverse wireless charging.
The Xiaomi Mi 10S will be available in black, blue, and white colors and will go for a starting price of $506. It will go for sale in China on March 12.
