Punjab Police Rescues Man Chained to Tree for Years

The police rescued and freed a man on Wednesday who had reportedly been abducted and chained to a tree for more than a decade in Bhakkar district in Punjab.

An initial investigation against the accused suggests that the victim had been restrained and tortured in a bid to apportion his inherited wealth.

Identified by the police as Yousuf, the victim told the authorities that his family had abducted and restrained him in order to seize his wealth. The perpetrators were revealed to be his brothers who claim that they had kept Yousuf chained to the tree because he is mentally disabled.

A detailed investigation is currently underway, and the local police force is doing everything possible to get to the bottom of this case.

The concerned public factions including the distant relatives of those involved in the case will reportedly be interrogated duly.
