Earlier this week, Xiaomi announced that its 2021 New Product Launch Event was slated to be held on 29th March in China. The event will be broadcasted virtually for the global markets. Initially, the company confirmed that it will be launching the Mi 11 Pro and Mi 11 Ultra smartphones along with the Mi Notebook Pro laptop and a new MIJIA Washing Machine at the event.
A few days after the announcement, Xiaomi has now confirmed that the long-awaited Mi MIX series device will also make an appearance at the event. Further details about the upcoming device are still under wraps.
According to previous reports, the new Mi MIX is expected to be the company’s first foldable smartphone. The device has already passed 3C certification but many details were not revealed except that it will have a Galaxy Z Fold2-like hinge design and will fold inward.
The smartphone, based on speculation, will most likely come with a 7-inch display with support for a 120Hz refresh rate. It will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset and will feature a 108MP primary camera sensor in a triple-camera module. Moreover, it will run MIUI 12 and pack a 5,000mAh battery. However, none of these specifications have been confirmed by the company. So take it with a grain of salt.
Nevertheless, more details will be revealed soon.
