PSEB Launches Training and Certification Program for IT Professionals

The Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB), which is an entity of the Ministry of Information Technology & Telecommunication, has launched a comprehensive project that is aimed at enhancing the quality and capabilities of IT professionals in Pakistan.

The project will improve IT professionals’ skill sets via the provision of training in the latest state-of-the-art technologies like machine learning, blockchain, e-commerce management, digital marketing, penetration testing, and mean/full stack development.

The PSEB will also provide training and assistance for the obtaining of international certifications like AWS certified solution architect, CCNA, CEH, and Computer Hacking Forensic Investigator.

The Managing Director, Pakistan Software Export Board, Osman Nasir, said that the program is entirely free for graduates in IT and employees in public sector organizations, and that 90 percent of the cost of the training and certification of private sector IT professionals will be subsidized by the PSEB.

Pakistan’s ICT export remittances (including telecommunication, computer, and information services) had surged to $1.512 billion during July-March, 2020-21 while maintaining a track record of delivering consecutive export remittances inflow growth.

The IT industry achieved a growth rate of 43.61 percent as compared to the corresponding period of July-March 2019-20 during which the IT exports remittances inflow had totaled $1.052 million.
