PM Imran Orders New Visa Category for Investors

Prime Minister Imran Khan on Sunday directed concerned authorities to introduce a separate visa category for people associated with CPEC projects and remove obstacles for issuing long-term visas to foreign investors, especially Chinese investors.

The premier chaired a review meeting on the progress of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects and promotion of investment in the country, during which he directed the Home Ministry to submit a summary to the federal cabinet regarding the provision of all possible incentives to the investors.

The PM stated that Pakistan and China’s strategic partnership is “exemplary” for the world.

“In order to transform these relations into strong economic ties, it is necessary to promote investment in areas of mutual interest and provide all possible incentives to investors,” the PM said.

The Prime Minister stressed the importance of CPEC for boosting economic growth in Pakistan and acting as a catalyst for the development of the entire region.

He was satisfied with the progress of the Special Economic Zones and instructed relevant authorities to establish CPEC Special Economic Zone in Karachi.
