The Ministry of Science and Technology has revealed that it will take more time to produce the prototype Electronic Voting Machine (EVM), adding that it is expected to be completed by the third week of July.
The Election Commission of Pakistan on Wednesday informed that it conducted meetings for two consecutive days on using technology in the upcoming elections, however, the ministry which had to demonstrate EVM during the meeting has asked for more time, stating that it would be ready by the third week of next month.

Chief Election Commissioner, Sikandar Sultan Raja, chaired these meetings and it was attended by members, secretaries, and senior officials of the ECP.

ECP also informed that it will conduct a consultative process soon, taking all political parties and stakeholders on board, to make a final decision on using EVM during elections.
