Tecno has just announced its budget gaming phone called dPova 2. It comes with a massive battery, a large display, and a 12 nm chipset. All in all, the device is a big upgrade over the original Tecno Pova.
Unlike its predecessor, the Tecno Pova 2 does not come with bold gaming phone aesthetics. Instead, it has a glossy back with a paint job that mimics the rays of light. The camera aisle is located at the top left and there is POVA branding at the bottom left.
The handset is built around a 6.9-inch panel with 1080p resolution, 20.5:9 aspect ratio, 180Hz touch sampling rate, and 60Hz refresh rate.
The Tecno Pova 2 is powered by the MediaTek Helio G85 SoC that is developed over the 12 nm architecture and comes with two Cortex-A75 cores and a Mali G52 MC2 GPU.
In terms of memory, the phone offers 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. It also comes with a microSD card if you need more. The software front is handled by Android 11 with HiOS 7.6 on top.
In addition to this, according to Tecno, the phone comes with optimizations in the ET Game Engine and Game Space 2.0 that can boost the CPU and GPU as needed. The systems are designed specifically to cater to the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang MOBA game.
At the back, the phone comes with a quad sensor camera setup featuring a 48 MP main sensor and three 2MP helper modules. For selfies, it is equipped with an 8 MP camera.
The system packs a huge 7000 mAh battery with 18W charging.
The Tecno Pova 2 will be available for pre-order by 5th June and sales will start on 11th June. It is available at a $167 price tag.
