First Pakistani Celebrity Receives UAE’s Golden Visa

The popular Pakistani celebrity and pilot, Fakhr-e-Alam, has become the first Pakistani celebrity to receive a 10-year Golden Visa from the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

As cultural ambassador to the UAE, Alam received the rare visa from the UAE authorities on Sunday, 27 June.

“I am very honored and extremely grateful to the UAE government and its visionary leadership for recognizing my work and granting me the Golden Visa”, he said in a statement, and added that he is “extremely motivated excited about doing greater things from Dubai in the future”.

The actor-turned-singer-turned-pilot also remarked that the issuance of the Golden Visa is significant for artists as they can now make long-term plans in the country.

“The 10-year validity on the visa gives residents the opportunity to completely change their perspective and look at making the UAE their home. They don’t have to worry about a visa change every three years,” he explained.

Besides this achievement, Fakhr-e-Alam is a recipient of the Best Actor award for his debut film Very Good Duniya, Very Bad Log. His efforts for the 2005 earthquake in Pakistan were also recognized via the reception of the coveted Presidential Medal for Humanitarian Services from the former president of Pakistan, Pervez Musharraf.
