Xiaomi’s 200W Fast Charging Technology May be Coming Soon

Xiaomi showcased its impressive 200W fast charging technology with the launch of the Mi 11 in May. With this technology, the Mi 11 Pro was able to charge 0 to 100% in only 15 minutes, which broke a lot of fast charging records.

A new report shows that this technology may actually be closer than we think.

The company behind Xiaomi’s 200W fast charging tech is called NuVolta Technologies, which is a major player in chip-making and charging technology. A new report claims that NuVolta has launched its second-generation fast charging chip, the one behind Xiaomi’s HyperCharge technology.

This chip is called the NuVolta NU2205 and it is reportedly the fastest charging chip with the highest power output in the industry at 100W. It is the only Chinese chip that supports dual-cell 4:2 pump fast-charging architecture that enables 200W fast charging on a split battery.

NuVolta is particularly proud of this chip as it breaks the monopoly of foreign companies in the dual-cell fast charging space, making it a unique offering. This also means that Xiaomi and other brands are closer to releasing phones with super-fast charging technology.

Xiaomi may be the first to put this tech into production, but there is no official word on that just yet.
