Islamabad Administration Seals Different Areas as Masses Fear 4th Wave

Islamabad’s District Administration earlier today sealed several areas of the federal capital after a sharp rise in COVID-19.

The areas where smart lockdown has been imposed include Street 13 Qurtaba Town in Khanna area, Street 18 G-11/2, Street 19 F-6/3, Street 24 G-7/2, Street 29 Block H Soan Garden, KIPS Academy PWD, and Islamabad Model School Boys F-8/3.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Islamabad, Hamza Shafqaat, warned the citizens to exercise precaution amid resurging Coronavirus infections, adding that the infection rate in the federal capital jumped from less than 1% to 7% in under a week.

District Health Officer (DHO) Islamabad, Zaeem Zia, has also requested the citizens to follow the guidelines issued by the District Administration Islamabad amid rising COVID-19 cases.

DHO Islamabad added that violations of SOPs during the build-up to Eid-ul-Adha may deteriorate the COVID-19 situation in the federal capital.

He also urged the citizens to get vaccinated against COVID-19 as early as possible from their nearest Mass Vaccination Centers (MVCs), noting that all MVCs in Islamabad are completely operational and are providing services to all the eligible individuals.
