The phone has a 6.51-inch IPS LCD with 720 x 1600 pixel resolution and a small waterdrop notch for the front camera. Overall, the phone looks no different from the Vivo Y12a or the Vivo Y12s 2021, so we can only assume that it is the Indian variant of the two.
The fingerprint sensor is mounted on the side atop the power button.
The Snapdragon 439 SoC is at the helm of the device with an octa-core processor, 3GB RAM, and 32GB internal storage. This can be expanded by up to 256GB with a microSD card.
As for software, the phone boots Android 11 with Funtouch OS 11 on top.
The main camera on the back is a 13MP wide-angle lens next to a 2MP depth sensor for portrait shots. This camera setup can record 1080p videos, but they are limited to 30 FPS.
The waterdrop notch front camera is an 8MP shooter, but it can also record 1080p clips at 30 FPS.
The phone packs plenty of battery capacity at 5,000 mAh, but it only has a 10W charging speed. A compatible charger is packed in the box.
The Vivo Y12G will be available for $148 in Glacier Blue and Phantom Black color options.
