The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has started issuing ID cards to immigrants residing in the country to bring them into the national social and financial mainstream.
According to details, NADRA Karachi on Tuesday processed the first application of NARA card of an immigrant residing in Orangi Town who will get his ID card within 15 days.

The issuance of National Alien Registration Authority (NARA) cards comes after Prime Minister Imran Khan last week directed NADRA to issue ID cards to the immigrants to enable them to avail different facilities.
The ID cards will enable foreigners and their families to open their businesses, get admission in private educational institutions, seek private employment, receive mobile SIMs, get utility connections, open bank accounts, register vehicles, and other sales/purchases.

Note that NARA ID cards will be issued only to immigrants that have previously received documentary evidence of residing in Pakistan issued by concerned authorities.
Afghan nationals and former Pakistani citizens holding Pakistan Origin Cards (POCs) will not be issued NARA ID cards.
