Superior University Pays Tribute to Academia with ‘Fakhar-e-Pakistan’ Awards

Superior University, a private higher education institution in Lahore, recognized the tireless contributions of educational leaders through its ‘Fakhr-e-Pakistan’ awards. Held at the Governor’s House Lahore, the awards paid tribute to the academia of Pakistan in the presence of esteemed guests.

Governor Punjab, Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar, was the Guest of Honor while Mrs. Perveen Sarwar and Minister for Higher Education Punjab, Raja Yassir Humayon, also joined the event.

The event was hosted by Dr Sumaira Rehman, Rector Superior University to appreciate the dedicated services of the higher education department, higher education commission, and worthy vice-chancellors, deans, rectors, and policymakers whose dedicated services helped continue the mission of educational development seamlessly, even amidst the standstill caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Fakhar-e-Pakistan awards ceremony was also aimed at improving liaison between education policymakers and leaders of public/private universities, while also bringing the educational fraternity closer.

A highlight of the event was the tribute presented by Superior University to Sheikh Muhammad Tanzeel-ur-Rehman (Late), former Deputy Director of Higher Education Department Punjab. He passed away in May 2021 due to Coronavirus.

In recognition of his dedicated services for the development of the education sector, a ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ and a cheque of Rs. 5 Million was awarded to his widow, while educational scholarships were offered to his children.

The guest of honor, Governor Punjab, Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar, handed over this award to Mrs. Tanzeel-ur-Rehman on behalf of Superior University.

While addressing the participants, Governor Punjab Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar said that Dr. Sumaira Rehman’s initiatives to bring educational leaders together, and her own entrepreneurship development initiatives at Superior University were highly commendable.

He also said that he was very conscious of the importance of developing the higher education sector and assured that he would be facilitating the education sector in every possible way to ensure world-class facilities for educational institutes and the higher education department.

Minister for Education Punjab, Raja Yassir Humayun, also appreciated the event organized by Superior University and said that only the education sector was the key to the development of the nation for which he would always be in collaboration with educational leaders.

Dr. Sumaira Rehman, Rector Superior University, thanked the participants and asserted her mission to ensure collaboration and inclusivity between major stakeholders of the education sector.

She also emphasized that she would be glad to seek further suggestions from the stakeholders so that they all may take required initiatives and play a significant role in providing a promising future for the youth of the country to build an economically superior Pakistan.

Awards and souvenirs were presented to the Higher Education Department and Punjab Higher Education Commission officials, and the worthy vice-chancellors, deans, and rectors in recognition of their brilliant services for the promotion of education.
