FIA Summons CAA Officials for Transferring Land in 2001

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has summoned 12 officers of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) to investigate the transfer of 2 acres of CAA’s land to the Sindh government.

According to details, the criminal investigation agency has summoned the Deputy Director General and other high-ranking officials from the estate and commercial departments and headquarters of the CAA.

The land in question was transferred to the provincial government in 2001 and most of the CAA officers involved in the act have either retired or have assumed senior posts in the organization.

In a separate development, the Sindh High Court (SHC) approved a petition against the FIA for hearing.

The petitioner, a sugar mill owner, contended that FIA allegedly registered a fake case against him for hoarding sugar. He pleaded with the court to order FIA to quash the case against him and stop harassing him.

The SHC ordered FIA officials investigating the case to appear before it on the next hearing along with the record of the case.
