The Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs, Ali Haider Zaidi, during a press conference on Sunday, announced that the Port Qasim Authority will gift hybrid buses to the University of Karachi, NED University of Engineering and Technology, Dow University of Health Sciences, and Sindh Medical College.
Minister Zaidi added that the government will also launch a new bus service between Port Qasim and the Karachi Port Trust to facilitate the employees and the people. He said that the government is also considering the construction of bridges to ensure the smooth flow of traffic in the city.
He added that the government will also undertake an audit of the department as an audit of the department had not been conducted since 2010.
Zaidi also highlighted the importance of ports and said that the economy of any country depends on them and added that the government plans to launch a new company named Pakistani Maritime Service under a public-private partnership which will conduct business in local currency.
