Islamabad Police Collected Rs. 1.1 Million Fines From Motorcyclists Last Week

Islamabad Traffic Police fined motorcyclists a total of Rs. 1.1 million last week for various violations of traffic rules.

A total of 7,392 tickets were issued, of which 6,075 were for traveling without helmets. The remaining 127 were for lane violations, 155 were for number plates, 149 were for disregarding one-way roads, 50 were for one-wheeling, and 438 were for dangerous driving.

Besides this, the Islamabad Traffic Police impounded 471 motorcycles.

In related news, the e-challan system under the Pakistan Safe City Authority in Islamabad has fulfilled its goals and decreased traffic violations by motorists.

The News had reported last week that more than 20,000 e-challans had been issued to motorists over five months.

These challans are to be paid within 10 days of the issuance date, after which a copy of the challan will be added to the master file of the vehicle at the Excise and Taxation office and legal action against the offender will be initiated.
