The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has prohibited marketing companies from the advertisement and promotion of unauthorized housing schemes.
A spokesperson for the RDA stated that the directives were issued upon the orders of Director General (DG), Muhammad Saif Anwar Jappa. He said that the marketing companies were asked to immediately stop the promotion of such housing schemes.
Furthermore, the Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering (MP&TE) Directorate RDA also served notices to owners of YouTube channels and marketing companies. He added that these unauthorized housing schemes were promoting their projects through YouTube and other platforms.
It should be noted that housing schemes promoting their projects without acquiring a No-Objection Certificate (NOC) from the RDA are violating rule 46 (1) of Punjab Development Authorities Private Housing Scheme Rules-2021.
The marketing companies have been warned and non-compliance with the directives would result in strict action in accordance with the law.
Furthermore, citizens have also been advised against investing in housing projects without checking their legal status on the RDA website. Additionally, citizens can also visit the RDA office to get information.
