Will Punjab Extend Summer Vacations for Schools?

Students in Punjab are eagerly awaiting news on whether their school holidays will be extended, following similar announcements made by authorities in Sindh.

Schools in Punjab were closed on May 25 due to the heatwave, with the summer break for all government and private schools running from June 1 to August 14.

According to the latest update, the Punjab Education Department is not planning to extend the school holidays, and all institutions are expected to reopen on August 15, 2024.

The Punjab government, led by Maryam Nawaz, may reconsider the school schedule depending on the prevailing weather conditions.

Earlier, the Sindh Education Department extended the summer holidays until August 14 due to ongoing heatwaves and expected heavy rains. Schools will reopen on August 15, with activities planned for Independence Day on August 14. Initially, the summer break was set from June 1 to July 31, 2024.
