Work From Home Announced for Offices in Islamabad’s Red Zone

Federal government employees working at ministries, divisions and other establishments in Islamabad’s Red Zone will work from home on Tuesday, June 23, 2026.

The Cabinet Division issued the notification on June 22 ahead of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian’s scheduled visit to Pakistan.

The directive applies only to government establishments located within the Red Zone. Several key offices will continue operating from their usual premises.

Offices Remaining Open

The following offices will operate as usual:

  • Cabinet Division
  • Federal Board of Revenue
  • Finance Division
  • Ministry of Commerce
  • Ministry of Foreign Affairs
  • Ministry of Industries and Production
  • Ministry of Interior and Narcotics Control
  • Ministry of Law and Justice
  • Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs
  • Ministry of Planning, Development and Special Initiatives
  • National Assembly and Senate
  • Prime Minister’s Office
  • Revenue Division

Other Instructions

Autonomous bodies and attached departments located within the Red Zone will remain closed on June 23.

Officers and secretarial staff covered by the work-from-home order must remain at their station and be ready to report to the office at short notice when required.

The notification does not apply to banks, which will operate as usual.

President Pezeshkian will arrive in Pakistan for an official visit at the invitation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. A high-level delegation, including ministers and senior officials, will accompany him.
