Operation Theatre of Mayo Hospital Lahore Starts Leaking Due to Rain

ARY News reported that a section of the new emergency ward at Mayo Hospital in Lahore had been compromised by a ceiling leak, allowing rainwater to enter the operation theatre.

The hospital administration confirmed the issue, attributing it to substandard work by the contractor, C&W. The hospital’s medical superintendent (MS) assured us that the matter was being addressed. Efforts are underway to drain the water from the affected area and restore the operation theatre to a functional state.

It is noteworthy that heavy rainfall in Lahore recently broke a 30-year record, with the highest rainfall of 315 mm recorded in the Tajpura area. The rain, which began early in the morning, continued periodically throughout the day in various parts of the city.

Lahore experienced four episodes of heavy rain, causing significant commuting difficulties due to waterlogged roads. The highest rainfall of 315 mm was recorded in Tajpura, followed by Lakshmi Chowk with 170 mm, Nishtar Town with 162 mm, and Chowk Nakhuda with 155 mm.
