Punjab Food Authority Seizes Hundreds of Kilograms of Adulterated Spices and Ghee

During a recent enforcement operation, food safety teams confiscated 400kg of adulterated spices and ghee from Jhang Road on Thursday. Official sources reported that the teams conducted raids at two production units in Munirabad, Jhang Road, uncovering violations of standard operating procedures (SOPs) in the preparation of adulterated spices. Additionally, another unit was found producing substandard ghee using animal offal and waste.

Both units have been sealed, and their owners have been booked. Separately, the environmental protection agency took action against a sizing unit on Jhang Road, sealing a boiler and imposing a fine of Rs 200,000 for burning prohibited materials.

The agency also inspected a straw board unit in Chak No 67-JB, where they sealed another boiler for violating smog prevention and control regulations. Near Chak No 70-JB, the team filed a case against the owner of a filling station for illegally unsealing a boiler.
