On Monday, the Balochistan Food Authority (BFA) team thwarted a major attempt to supply unhealthy chicken meat to Quetta.
Acting on a special directive from Director General Ateequllah, the BFA team, led by the Deputy Director of Operations, intercepted a suspected truck coming from Multan in the Khanuzai area. They recovered 2400kg of unhealthy chicken meat worth millions of rupees.
According to the laboratory report, the seized meat was found to be harmful for human consumption after testing samples.
Under the supervision of the BFA team, a large quantity of unsanitary chicken meat was safely destroyed outside the city.
Following the direction of the Director General, further legal action was initiated against those involved in the supply of the defective meat.
DG Ateequllah stated that the authority operates 24/7 to monitor and prevent the supply of substandard meat.
