A recent survey conducted by Gallup Pakistan recently conducted a survey that posed a straightforward question: “What is the name of the current Prime Minister?” The answer was: Shehbaz Sharif.
The results showed that 65% of Pakistanis correctly identified Shehbaz Sharif as the prime minister, indicating a substantial level of awareness among the populace. However, the survey also revealed that 20% of respondents provided incorrect answers, while a notable 14% admitted they were unaware of the prime minister’s name.
The data further revealed significant gender disparities in political awareness. Among male respondents, 71% correctly named Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, compared to 61% of female respondents. This gender gap underscores the need for targeted educational and informational campaigns to bridge the knowledge divide and ensure that both men and women are equally informed about their country’s leadership.
Urban-rural differences were also evident in the survey results. Urban residents demonstrated higher levels of awareness, with 72% correctly identifying the prime minister, compared to 63% of rural respondents. This urban-rural divide points to potential disparities in access to information and education between different regions of the country.
