Govt Appoints Lt. Gen. (R) Moazzam Ejaz as New Chairman of National Technology Council

The government has announced the appointment of Lt. Gen. (R) Moazzam Ejaz, HI (M), as the new Chairperson of the National Technology Council (NTC). The appointment, effective from July 29, 2024, was made by the Chairman of HEC in his capacity as the Controlling Authority of the Council.

Lt. Gen. Moazzam Ejaz, who currently serves as the Rector of the National University of Technology (NUTECH) in Islamabad, will hold the position for four years. His appointment aligns with Clause 3 of the approved Bylaws of the Council.

The official notification from HEC stated,

“The Chairman HEC – in his capacity as the Controlling Authority of the Council – has been pleased to appoint Lt. Gen. Moazzam Ejaz, HI (M) (Retd.), (Rector, National University of Technology (NUTECH), Islamabad), as the Chairperson of National Technology Council (NTC) for a period of four (04) years w.e.f July 29, 2024, as per Clause 3 of the approved Bylaws of the Council.”

It was also clarified that the Chairperson shall not be entitled to any salary or benefits for his services, except for an honorarium and allowances as may be prescribed.
